First Look At GTA 6: Rockstar Releases Trailer After Leak

Unfortunate news for Rockstar developers, who were undoubtedly looking forward to the planned, massive launch of the first GTA 6 trailer. However, it’s better news for the fans who couldn’t wait a few more hours. Since the trailer leaked before the scheduled release, Rockstar found itself compelled to officially unveil the trailer a bit earlier than planned.

It’s regrettable for those involved, tirelessly working for years to treat us to the most epic Grand Theft Auto 6 experience, who surely pictured this moment differently. But now, all we can do is look at the positive side: we FINALLY have the first glimpses of GTA 6.

And truth be told; it was a goosebumps-inducing moment. Most of us have been eagerly awaiting this, and it felt incredible to see the vibrant hues of Vice City for the first time and get acquainted with the new protagonists, who are bound to become a significant part of our gaming lives once again.

The trailer seems to confirm several earlier leaks. Indeed, we’re gearing up for a true Bonnie & Clyde adventure, with lovers Lucia and Jason as playable protagonists. The fact that the backdrop for our criminal escapades would be a modern version of Vice City was already widely speculated, but the trailer erases any doubts about that.

Several things immediately catch the eye when watching the trailer. One of those things is that the game might be renamed to Grand Twerk Auto 6, given the abundance of voluptuous ladies shaking their backsides. And while the trailer is a pre-rendered scene, it appears that the streets and roads will be much busier. The trailer showcases bustling locations like a beach and a club, packed with a multitude of NPCs.

These NPCs all seem engrossed in their own activities and look convincingly real in terms of behavior. And the typical, eccentric GTA characters we’ve grown accustomed to from previous installments will be there in numbers. We witness a guy in his thong watering his plants, a daunting lady armed with hammers, and a news report about a biker gang causing havoc on the streets of Vice City.

Social media also seems to play a significant role. A large part of the trailer features in-game social media and/or news reports of noteworthy events happening in the city. I’d venture a guess and say we’ll frequently see the crimes of our main characters being highlighted here.

Given that the city is based on Florida, it wouldn’t be complete without some wildlife. The crocodile sneaking into a store also piqued my interest. Will we perhaps catch it and employ it for some nefarious scheme?

The trailer ends with the two protagonists making some sort of pact, agreeing to trust each other, undoubtedly leading to a path full of wanted stars.

Naturally, Rockstar’s trailer went viral in no time. Within 10 hours, it was viewed 52 million times. The post on X, where Rockstar unveiled the trailer, has now reached 62.7 million views and a million likes.

Oh, and the game is set to release in 2025. Not very surprising, I know. But still, against all odds, I secretly hoped it would be in 2024. Nevertheless, here we are. We’ve waited ten years. That final year, year and a half…we can handle that.
