These are exciting times to be a gamer. The mega-popular The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was recently released, Spider-Man 2 is coming out in October, and Final Fantasy XVI will be released for the PS5 on June 22nd. Patience is a virtue, but also quite the challenge..
However, it seems that the hunger of Final Fantasy fans can be somewhat satisfied today. It appears that Square Enix will release the demo for the game later today, after or during the Final Fantasy XVI Pre-Launch Celebration Livestream. The event will take place at 4 PM Pacific Time Zone.

A Spanish TV commercial that was shown yesterday ends with the words “Juega ya a la demo de Final Fantasy XVI, exclusivo de PlayStation 5.” For those who are not as fluent in Spanish as yours truly, Google Translate tells us that this means “Play the demo of Final Fantasy XVI now, exclusive to PlayStation 5.” The commercial was probably meant for the event and was shown earlier than it was supposed to.
Additionally, well-known streamer Ludwig announced an upcoming stream where he would play Final Fantasy XVI, mentioning the date June 12th.
All of this combined suggests that fans will be able to dive into the first hours of the action-adventure game this afternoon. These hours will focus on the younger years of the protagonist, Clive. Players will be able to transfer their progress to the final version starting from June 22nd.
