This Bed We Made: Unravel The Mystery As A Maid

Why are activities in the digital world often more interesting than in real life? Personally, I’m not a big fan of walking, but strolling around in ‘Death Stranding‘ is delightful. Stealing cars in ‘Grand Theft Auto‘ is much more fun than in real life (just kidding. Or am I?). Montreal-based developer Lowbirth Games is now attempting to make the work of a hotel chambermaid enjoyable with their debut game ‘This Bed we Made.’

On November 1st, PC and PlayStation 5 players will step into the shoes of Sophie Roy, a chambermaid at the Clarington Hotel, where a mystery awaits them. Starting from December 13th, the game will also be available on Xbox Series X-S and PlayStation 4.

The third-person narrative mystery game This Bed we Made is set in 1958. The guests of the hotel you work for carry secrets with them. In the trailer (which also features a delightful, old-fashioned chanson), you can read the tagline, “Behind every door lies a mystery”, which seems to cover the game’s essence very well. Investigate guest’s rooms and discover what they have in common. As Sophie, you will eavesdrop on guests and search through their personal belongings. All while, of course, avoiding detection. Discuss your findings with your chosen sidekick. Your relationship with them deepens through your dialogue choices.

The game features puzzles and a deep story influenced by the choices you make as Sophie, which can lead to different endings. The graphics are eye-catching and particularly impressive for an indie game.

This Bed we Made draws heavy inspiration from games likeLife is Strangeand L.A. Noire.’ The aesthetics were inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s films.

During MEGAMIGS 2022, This Bed we Made received recognition for its convincing voice performances, winning the Best Vocal Performance award. That same year, Developer Lowbirth Games also received accolades, as the studio was named among the winners of the Best Places to Work 2022 Canada Awards.

If you’re eager to unravel the mystery, you can take advantage of a 15% discount during the first week after the game’s release.
